UI Developer (JavaScript/TypeScript)

Location: Remote from Germany; 100% remote work with occasional in-person workshops and team events.

What you will do

• Develop and improve user interfaces with JavaScript and TypeScript for public-sector email and calendar solutions.
• Own features across the full development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation through testing, quality assurance, and deployment.
• Build and maintain a distributed, cloud-native platform running on Kubernetes and serving millions of users.
• Improve software quality through CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and continuous development-process improvements.
• Use modern developer tooling, including agentic coding and AI-assisted development.
• Improve the codebase and technical architecture with a focus on long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional development experience at a senior level, with ownership of features from concept to production.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and modern web architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Ability to design intuitive APIs and user interfaces with a strong focus on usability, communicate technical concepts clearly, and collaborate effectively.
• Fluent German and good English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vue.js, particularly its reactivity system.
• Strong UI design and UX skills, including accessibility standards and inclusive UI design.
• Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, container technologies, cloud-native architectures, MariaDB, and Galera Clusters.
• Knowledge of email and calendar protocols and standards, including IMAP, RFC 822, CalDAV, iMIP, and iCalendar.
