Senior Document Operations Specialist (Retirement Plans)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Salary: $67,000–$88,000 annually, plus potential annual bonus

What you will do

• Prepare and maintain retirement plan documents, summary plan descriptions, amendments, resolutions, and funding documents for new and existing clients.
• Analyze complex plan design changes and ensure compliance with applicable retirement plan regulations.
• Collaborate with clients, advisors, attorneys, client management, transition teams, and operational groups to resolve document and compliance issues.
• Review mergers, spin-offs, acquisitions, terminations, and other complex transactions to protect accrued benefits and align documents with administrative capabilities.
• Research compliance and plan design issues, recommend solutions, and identify operational, compliance, and business risks.
• Support legislative and regulatory change initiatives, including plan restatement and amendment projects, and serve as a technical resource.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent education and experience.
• At least five years of pension or retirement plan experience.
• In-depth knowledge of retirement plan regulations, plan document interpretation, and qualified plan design.
• Experience analyzing complex plan provisions and evaluating the operational impact of document changes.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft, review, and explain technical retirement plan concepts to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global retirement products and administrative capabilities.
• Experience drafting retirement plan documents or supporting document services in recordkeeping, TPA, consulting, legal, or compliance environments.
• Experience with ASC, ftwilliam, Relius, or similar document-generation systems.
• ASPPA, QKA, QKC, or TGPC credentials.
• Experience with 401(a), 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), or nonqualified deferred compensation plans.
