Focus on interpreting Adoption Agreements, resolving ambiguous compliance issues, building scalable review tooling, and applying AI-assisted automation to strengthen accuracy.

Location: Denver, Colorado — hybrid; Los Angeles, California — remote; Scottsdale, Arizona, United States. Employees based in Denver or Scottsdale offices are expected to work onsite approximately 2–3 days per week or more depending on the role. Approved non-office work requires a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection.

Salary: $62,400–$78,000 per year in Phoenix; $67,755–$83,000 per year in Denver; $74,285–$91,000 per year in Los Angeles. Final compensation varies by location, experience, and expertise.

What you will do

  • Serve as the ERISA and compliance escalation point for Conversion Ops and Sales on complex plan provisions, eligibility questions, and Adoption Agreement interpretation.
  • Own quality assurance for 401(k) plan builds and validate each setup against the signed Adoption Agreement.
  • Review new and converting 401(k) plans and translate legal plan documents into clear operational guidance.
  • Build training and reference materials for Conversion Ops, Sales, and Customer Experience teams.
  • Partner with Legal & Compliance on regulatory interpretation and sign-off for higher-risk plan changes.
  • Identify and implement responsible uses of AI tools and automation in plan review and compliance workflows.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in 401(k) or defined contribution plan administration, compliance, or ERISA.
  • Strong knowledge of IRS and ERISA regulations covering retirement plan eligibility, testing, and corrections.
  • Experience reviewing Adoption Agreements and plan provisions and converting them into operational guidance.
  • Ability to handle ambiguous, escalated issues with Sales, Conversion Ops, and Legal & Compliance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability under deadline pressure.
  • Comfort using and refining AI-assisted tools for plan review and setup.

  • QKA, QPA, CRPS, or C(k)P professional designation.
