Light Vehicle Mechanic

Location: Haile, United States; onsite work in office and operational mining environments is required

What you will do

• Inspect, test, and maintain light vehicles to keep equipment available for use.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire replacement and rotation, wheel balancing, and filter replacement.
• Diagnose and repair engine, mechanical, electrical, and body damage issues.
• Conduct test drives and adjust vehicle controls and systems to verify serviceability.
• Maintain vehicle service and repair records and keep shop equipment operational.
• Control maintenance costs by evaluating warranty coverage, service options, and parts options.

Requirements

• Appropriate tertiary trade qualifications.
• At least 2 years of experience in an automotive dealership setting.
• 5 or more years of light vehicle maintenance experience is preferred.
• Previous experience as an auto mechanic is advantageous.
• Ability to work in operational mining environments, regularly access active mining and processing areas, and complete site visits.
• Ability to walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs, access elevated work areas, and use mandatory personal protective equipment.
