Patient Access Associate Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio; limited to individuals who reside and are authorized to work in the United States. Full-time schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., including weekend and holiday rotation.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting, registration, and pre-registration duties for hospital patients.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify eligibility, select insurance plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain signatures and document required information.
• Screen medical necessity using Advanced Beneficiary Notice software and distribute required notices.
• Conduct account audits, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate patient and customer service while walking between rooms and pushing a 10-pound mobile computer station.

Requirements

• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Ability to walk from room to room and push a 10-pound mobile computer station throughout the shift.
• Ability to work the full-time 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. schedule with weekend and holiday rotation.
• CRCR certification required within nine months of hire; certification is company paid.
