Patient Access Associate Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Mercy - St Anne Hospital in Toledo, OH

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting, preregistration, and patient access activities for hospital services.
• Assign medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select insurance plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain required signatures and distribute patient education materials.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and document applicable notices and forms.
• Conduct account audits, maintain accurate records, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• Must be able to work onsite at Mercy - St Anne Hospital in Toledo, OH.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Inquisitive mindset and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvement.
• CRCR certification required within nine months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Availability for a full-time 2:00 PM–10:30 PM schedule, including weekend and holiday rotation.
