Field Technician (Cable)

Location: Mt. Carmel, Illinois, United States; onsite field work required

Cable One and Sparklight provide cable, internet, and connectivity services while supporting residential and business customers across the United States.

What you will do

• Install customer service drops and outlets at residential and business properties.
• Use electronic test equipment and online diagnostic tools to troubleshoot service drops, outlets, reception, and customer equipment.
• Diagnose and repair issues from customer equipment through the first distribution amplifier.
• Verify upstream and downstream signal levels at customer premises.
• Educate customers about their equipment and suggest upgrades to existing services.
• Work overtime and on-call shifts as needed to support customers.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in the state of application and a good driving record.
• At least three months of customer service or related experience and/or training.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems, listen to customers, and present solutions positively.
• Ability to work in small or confined areas, climb ladders, lift up to 100 pounds, and work in all weather conditions.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
