Patient Access Associate Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management)

Location: Onsite at Mercy - St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, United States

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform admitting and patient access duties for hospital patients, including assigning medical record numbers and completing registration.
• Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information, including point-of-service and past-due payments.
• Process physician orders, pre-register patients, review eligibility responses, and select accurate insurance plan codes.
• Complete medical necessity and compliance checks, including Advanced Beneficiary Notice screening for Medicare patients.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain signatures and distribute patient education materials.
• Conduct account audits, maintain accurate documentation, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitiveness and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled approaches to improving patient and client experiences.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Must be able to work onsite at Mercy - St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
