Head of Quality Assurance (Aerospace)

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, UK. The role is site-based and requires candidates to be able to work in the UK without restrictions and successfully complete the required level of UK National Security Vetting.

What you will do

• Lead the Quality Assurance function and ensure quality is embedded across the business and supply chain.
• Maintain and improve the Business Management System, quality policies, procedures, control plans, and quality records.
• Lead product, process, supplier, and design audits, including support for external audits by customers and authorities.
• Manage quality investigations, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, First Article Inspection, and Material Review Board processes.
• Support aerospace approvals, airworthiness compliance, operator approval processes, product release documentation, and conformity activities.
• Manage resources, stakeholder relationships, reporting, KPIs, and quality team performance, including recruitment and development.

Requirements

• Extensive Quality Assurance experience and experience managing effective teams in a design and manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in an aerospace organisation and across product, design, process, and supplier quality disciplines.
• Knowledge of aerospace standards and approvals, including CAA Part 21, CAA and EASA Part 145, FAA requirements, and AS9100.
• Experience with aerospace quality management systems, quality investigations using RCCA tools, source inspections, and conformity requirements.
• Trained auditor with strong communication, stakeholder management, decision-making, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work in the UK without restrictions and complete the required UK National Security Vetting.
