Database & System Administrator (Microsoft SQL Server)

Location: Hybrid role based in Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain. Core hours are Monday–Thursday 9:30–17:00 and Friday 9:00–15:00.

What you will do

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Manage on-premise Oracle Database environments, version 19c or newer.
• Design and implement high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions using SQL Server AlwaysOn, Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, and GoldenGate replication.
• Plan and execute database installations, upgrades, migrations, patching, backups, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Manage database security, user access, auditing, monitoring, and configuration documentation.
• Provide incident support, participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, and collaborate with DevOps, networking, and application teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration and solid experience with Oracle Database.
• Hands-on experience with high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and monitoring tools.
• Fluent English and Spanish, spoken and written.
• Experience with Linux and Windows servers hosting database workloads.
• Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code practices; Ansible experience is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience managing PostgreSQL databases.
• Automation experience with Bash and PowerShell.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments, including Azure and Oracle Cloud.
• Microsoft Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional, or similar certification.
