Automotive Software Product Manager (f/d/m)

What you will do

• Define and lead the software product and tools strategy for automotive microcontroller end-node products, including S32K1, MagniV, and remote end-nodes.
• Translate OEM, Tier 1, ecosystem, and market needs into product requirements, priorities, roadmaps, and release plans.
• Manage the software lifecycle from concept and investment planning through development, launch, maintenance, long-term support, and end-of-life.
• Own the program backlog and feature prioritization across Agile Release Trains, aligning delivery scope and timing with software product managers and Agile teams.
• Guide global software R&D organizations on priorities, investment trade-offs, technical feasibility, and business value.
• Develop ecosystem and partner strategies, support customer engagements, assess competitive offerings, and shape software value propositions and go-to-market plans.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in embedded software, automotive software, semiconductor product management, software product management, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, software engineering, embedded systems, automotive engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience is also valued.
• Strong understanding of automotive embedded software development, software lifecycle management, development tools, and customer enablement for microcontroller-based products.
• Experience building product roadmaps, business cases, and executive recommendations based on customer needs, market insight, and technical constraints.
• Experience working with global R&D organizations, software partners, licensing models, ecosystems, and third-party software collaboration.
• Fluent English communication skills required. Occasional travel to customers, partners, and global NXP teams is expected.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of body electronics, end-node control, sensor and actuator interfaces, zonal architectures, or software-defined vehicle platforms.
• Familiarity with S32K, MagniV, in-vehicle networking, remote end-node concepts, AUTOSAR, or OPEN Alliance technologies.
• German or other language skills.
