Principal Software Engineer (Elasticsearch)

What you will do

• Define, lead, and contribute to the evolution of hirify.globalsearch's core search and indexing capabilities.
• Set technical vision and direction for indexing, retrieval, relevance, and query execution.
• Research advances in search infrastructure, data structures, and retrieval algorithms.
• Lead technical projects across distributed systems and large-scale search platforms.
• Collaborate with partner and product teams to shape the long-term technical roadmap.
• Mentor expert engineers and serve as a technical authority in hirify.globalsearch domains.

Requirements

• Experience leading technical projects involving search infrastructure, distributed systems, and high-performance software.
• Deep hands-on experience with hirify.globalsearch, Lucene, Solr, or comparable search and indexing technologies.
• Strong core Java skills, including advanced data structures, concurrency constructs, lambdas, and algorithm optimization.
• Experience defining technical vision for core search or retrieval systems and working across teams.
• Experience with large-scale data systems, open-source projects, source control workflows, and continuous integration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the autonomy to guide projects from concept to completion.

Nice to have

• Previous experience building products with hirify.globalsearch and expertise in search and information retrieval theory.
