Quality Assurance (QA) Project Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, NY / East Aurora, New York

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead variation reduction and design optimization by identifying key product characteristics and processes.
• Develop SPC, process capability, and gage capability plans, validating solutions through data-driven analysis.
• Apply DOE, regression analysis, and advanced statistical methods to manufacturing and Assembly & Test capability assessments.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials & Process, QA, and suppliers to influence requirements and Design-To-Cost outcomes.
• Present capability studies and statistical findings at customer design reviews.
• Manage project budgets and schedules, document results, train teams, and supervise up to four quality engineers or technicians when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• At least five years of experience applying statistics to the design, manufacturing, and assembly of complex systems.
• Expertise in SPC, DOE, regression analysis, capability studies, and root cause/corrective action.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes, with the ability to make independent technical decisions.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder engagement, and customer presentation skills.
• Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required.

Nice to have

• Experience setting priorities and conducting performance appraisals.
• Experience coaching or supervising engineers and technicians.
