Platform Engineering Manager, Shared Services (AI)

Location: Czech Republic, EMEA

Salary range for Italy: €67,000–€80,000 per year, including base salary and any applicable target bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a junior-to-mid engineering team through architectural direction, technical mentorship, and prioritization.
• Set technical direction for source control, CI/CD, monitoring, email, backup, and other shared services.
• Own the service portfolio as a product manager, balancing feature work, operations, and toil reduction.
• Drive operational excellence through SLOs, structured incident response, and MTTR reduction.
• Lead practical AI adoption, including assisted coding, runbook automation, knowledge retrieval, and ticket triage.
• Apply FinOps principles, support SaaS migration, and bring shadow IT into managed services.

Requirements

• Several years of IT or infrastructure experience, including 3+ years managing engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong systems architecture experience covering distributed systems, identity, networking, and service operations.
• Experience with SLOs, error budgets, DORA metrics, IaC/GitOps, and FinOps.
• Ability to lead AI-assisted tooling adoption and evaluate GenAI use cases with attention to data governance and security.
• Pragmatic decision-making, ambiguity tolerance, and a record of removing technical and organizational roadblocks.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT Enterprise, or equivalent tools.
• Awareness of AIOps capabilities and evaluation methods.
