Senior Research Engineer (Viral Vector Downstream Process Development)

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, and implement filtration and downstream purification processes for AAV and lentiviral vectors.
• Perform harvest and clarification of upstream material and support new product development, product care, and market support projects.
• Plan, execute, analyze, and verify experiments using structured, data-driven methods.
• Design integrated upstream-to-downstream process solutions aligned with customer needs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain process infrastructure, instrumentation, calibration, and standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate new technologies and present process development outcomes at conferences and to project or customer teams.

Requirements

• MSc degree and at least 5 years of industrial experience in biopharmaceutical process development.
• Experience in harvest and downstream processing, including end-to-end purification process development and optimization.
• Strong understanding of critical process parameters, scalability, process robustness, and manufacturability.
• Fluent English, spoken and written, is required.
• Structured laboratory work, accurate documentation, and strong presentation and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with viral vectors, especially AAV or lentiviral processes.
• Experience with large-scale production equipment.
• Working proficiency in Swedish.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and dynamic project environments.
