Master Thesis, 30 hp: Sensor Fusion for Robust Orientation Estimation

What you will do

• Investigate methods for orientation estimation through sensor fusion.
• Review literature on orientation estimation and sensor fusion methods.
• Develop mathematical models, state-estimation methods, and fusion algorithms.
• Evaluate IMU, GNSS, and other complementary sensor technologies.
• Validate solutions through simulation and/or experiments.
• Analyze accuracy, robustness, limitations, and recommendations for future system development.

Requirements

• Be in the final stage of Engineering Physics or an equivalent program.
• Be ready to begin a 30 hp master's thesis project.
• Have an interest in navigation, sensor fusion, and state estimation.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Simulink, or similar tools is advantageous.
• Pass security vetting under applicable security-protection regulations; additional citizenship obligations may apply where security clearance is required.
