What you will do

• Report and write exclusive news, breaking news, analysis, features, and commentary on North American energy companies and policy.
• Cover offshore exploration and development, shale oil and gas, LNG, energy services, technology companies, and related political, regulatory, and financial developments.
• Report on carbon capture and storage, renewable energy, and other low-carbon projects for Upstream and its Accelerate Carbon Capture newsletter.
• Build strong source networks and produce original stories independently and accurately.
• Contribute to special editions, show dailies, major industry conferences, and Upstream’s live and digital events.
• Travel as required and collaborate with the international Upstream news team.

Requirements

• Based in Houston, United States and able to work in a hybrid arrangement.
• Demonstrated ability to report and write exclusive and breaking news quickly and accurately.
• Strong online news-reporting, feature-writing, communication, and independent working skills.
• Ability to follow major developments in US energy news and produce original coverage.
• Integrity, objectivity, dedication, and professionalism appropriate for an international industry journalist.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.

• Knowledge and experience in the upstream oil and gas business.
