Senior Mac Sensor Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; hybrid work with 2–3 days per week onsite

Salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, and benefits

What you will do

• Design and develop production software for deployment on macOS systems.
• Own sensor features from system design through delivery.
• Build core endpoint protection capabilities across file system, memory, process, and networking subsystems.
• Troubleshoot customer-reported product issues and deliver responsive fixes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and distributed engineering teams.

Requirements

• Develop high-quality production code in Swift, C, C++, Objective-C, and Python.
• Have systems-level macOS development experience with high concurrency, multithreading, reliability, maintainability, and testability requirements.
• Use Xcode and macOS frameworks and libraries such as GCD and XPC.
• Debug background launchd processes and work with low-level security, memory, performance, and standards-conformance requirements.
• Have experience shipping major features and releases as part of an engineering team.
• Demonstrate leadership, communication, collaboration, distributed-team effectiveness, and experience using AI technologies to improve decisions and workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with endpoint products, cybersecurity, networking, firewalls, network security, or network protocols.
• Knowledge of the Network Extension framework or Endpoint Security library.
• Experience developing shared cross-platform C++ code.
