Senior Security Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Remote within the USA. Candidates near hirify.global offices may choose a hybrid schedule with in-office work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is required. Travel to hirify.global offices 3–5 times per year is required.

Salary: $153,000–$166,000 per year, adjusted based on location, experience, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate automated preventive and detective security guardrails across multi-account AWS environments.
• Build enterprise-wide controls that prevent or automatically remediate high-risk cloud misconfigurations.
• Secure internet-facing systems, validate asset inventories, and embed secure-by-default patterns into infrastructure modules and deployment workflows.
• Improve vulnerability management through automated intake, enrichment, ticketing, prioritization, and response workflows.
• Develop security automation, detection, triage, posture metrics, and telemetry-backed reporting with Cloud Engineering, Product Security, and Cyber Operations.
• Strengthen the reliability, scalability, and resilience of critical cloud security monitoring and posture management platforms.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud security, or security architecture, with ownership of initiatives spanning multiple teams and environments.
• Experience designing and securing multi-account AWS architectures, microservices, serverless workloads, and API-driven systems.
• Deep knowledge of AWS IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, S3, logging and monitoring, Organizations, and SCP-based preventive guardrails.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and policy-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Experience with threat modeling, Linux and cloud infrastructure hardening, network segmentation, security automation, and compliance controls including FERPA, PCI DSS, SOC 2, or NIST.
• Authorization to work in the United States for any employer and availability to travel to hirify.global offices 3–5 times per year.

Nice to have

• AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, CCSP, or another relevant certification.
• Experience contributing to hiring and technical evaluation processes.
