Manager, R&D Procurement (Pharmaceutical)

Salary: $109,500–$208,500 per year

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for clinical study vendors, from strategic sourcing through contracting.
• Lead sourcing, supplier evaluation, competitive assessments, and contract negotiations for laboratories, central IRBs, imaging, ECG, and other specialized services.
• Partner with Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and external suppliers to define requirements and execute agreements.
• Manage concurrent clinical studies, contracting workstreams, timelines, approvals, milestones, dependencies, and status reporting.
• Identify and mitigate procurement, commercial, contractual, operational, and supply risks.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and develop Procurement Specialists where applicable.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, clinical operations, life sciences, legal studies, or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, clinical operations, pharmaceutical operations, supplier management, contracting, or a related function.
• Experience supporting clinical development or clinical studies in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, contract research, or healthcare environments.
• Experience sourcing clinical study vendors and drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating contracts, statements of work, budgets, and change orders.
• Strong project management, analytical, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience managing teams or leading cross-functional workstreams, with the ability to coach others and drive accountability.

Nice to have

• Legal, paralegal, contract management, or related legal experience.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical clinical development processes and clinical study execution.
