Senior Purchasing Agent

Location: Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, Florida; onsite

What you will do

• Partner with requestors to understand procurement needs and requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes for cost-effectiveness and compliance.
• Create and process purchase orders or complete purchases by credit card.
• Monitor vendor performance, maintain supplier relationships, and reconcile procurement documentation.
• Assign purchases to purchasing agents, mentor team members, and compile monthly metrics.
• Work with Accounting to investigate purchasing-related invoicing issues and support ad hoc initiatives.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• 7+ years of related experience.
• Working knowledge of CostPoint and NASA FAR requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.

Nice to have

• Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and customer interface skills.
• Experience working independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
• Strong attention to detail.
