Director of Agent Operations (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build, hire, and lead the team responsible for deploying AI agents across complex healthcare workflows.
• Lead workflow discovery, define agent behavior, and align customers on scope, timelines, and trade-offs.
• Own delivery from workflow design through code development, testing, troubleshooting, and launch.
• Use production performance data to expand automation, reduce manual work, and protect quality and customer trust.
• Coordinate execution across Engineering, Product, Customer Strategy, and Operations.
• Create reusable workflows, tests, tools, and operating practices for repeatable implementation and optimization.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of experience across consulting, strategy and operations, solutions engineering, technical implementation, analytics, finance, product, or related roles.
• Experience leading teams, coaching people, hiring, and scaling a function in a high-growth startup.
• Strong customer-facing judgment, including requirements discovery, technical communication, expectation setting, and relationship building.
• Hands-on technical judgment across code, APIs, and data, including SQL, logs, tests, and AI coding tools.
• Analytical rigor and the ability to prioritize customer impact, urgency, effort, and long-term scalability.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco and execute effectively across technical and nontechnical teams.
