Research Fellow (AI)

Location: Remote, global; listed locations include the United States, China, Germany, Switzerland, and Australia.

Compensation: $30–$80 per hour.

What you will do

• Validate AI-generated paper reproductions, simulations, and research results.
• Map key research areas and develop a taxonomy within the relevant STEM field.
• Define standards for evaluating the quality of research performed by AI systems.
• Create benchmark tasks and evaluation criteria for frontier AI models.
• Contribute to a research paper and public evaluation set, with Fellows named as lead or first authors.

Requirements

• Current PhD student or postdoc in biology, medicine, neuroscience, materials science, chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, or chemical engineering.
• Based at a strong research university or institute.
• At least one published paper in the relevant field.
• Ability to critically review research and identify methodological or technical errors.
• Currently using AI for Science in personal research.
• Significant hands-on experience with Claude Code, Codex, or similar AI agents.
