Pipeline Technician (Line Patroller)

Location: Onsite in Ellerslie, Georgia, with extensive local travel within an assigned geographic area and occasional overnight travel.

What you will do

• Locate and mark gas and liquids pipeline facilities before and during excavation in accordance with One-Call procedures.
• Perform pipeline patrols, population density surveys, leak detection surveys, inspections, and damage prevention activities.
• Inspect excavation and repair projects near pipeline facilities, oversee contractors, review progress, and complete required documentation and as-built drawings.
• Represent the company with landowners, tenants, public officials, emergency officials, and local pipeline or conservation organizations.
• Perform governmental compliance activities involving PHMSA, state agencies, EPA, USFS, and related requirements.
• Identify and correct safety and environmental concerns while participating in operational excellence and safety programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with a long-term safe driving record.
• Knowledge of safe handling practices for flammable gases, high- and low-pressure systems, valve operating systems, and pipeline or compressor station operations.
• Proficiency with computers, MS Office, company software, electronic field devices, and technical documentation.
• Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams; perform basic math; and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and rural or isolated areas, respond to after-hours callouts, travel within the assigned region, and lift or carry required equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience in pipeline maintenance, excavation, utility locating, underground utilities, utility construction, construction management, surveying, or pipeline operations.
• Knowledge of Georgia and Florida One Call laws, safe excavation practices, and underground utility locating.
• Experience with USIC or similar locating services, off-road light-duty trucks, or UTVs.

Hiring process
