Senior Chemist (R&D) | Bentley Labs

Salary: $85,000–$95,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Review product development requests, clarify requirements with Sales Executives, and assign tentative completion dates.
• Develop innovative formulations for personal care, cosmetic, and OTC products, including emulsions, gels, sprays, and shampoos.
• Prepare lab batches, submit customer samples, and reformulate products based on customer feedback.
• Define lab-scale processes, order of addition, critical raw materials, processing parameters, benchmarks, specifications, and test results.
• Perform and monitor stability testing, instrument calibration, and validation with Lab Technicians.
• Provide technical support to customers and sales teams while collaborating with technicians and raw material vendors on new technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in cosmetic science, chemistry, or biochemistry; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 7+ years of experience developing products with formulation knowledge across multiple product forms.
• Experience developing stable and compliant personal care, cosmetic, and OTC products.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate timely sample shipments.
• Strong documentation skills, including detailed lab observations, preliminary specifications, and lab processes.
• Knowledge of ingredients, processing methods, regulatory standards, and raw material research.
