TL;DR
Lead Control Engineer (HVACR): Leading the development and qualification of electronics, system controllers, and variable frequency drives for Asia engineering operations with an accent on hardware design, EMC compliance, and product validation. Focus on designing PCB and power electronics solutions, resolving EMC and field-return issues, and coordinating cross-functional product launches with internal teams and ODM suppliers.

What you will do
- Lead the development and qualification of electronics products, system controllers, and variable frequency drives for the Asia engineering team.
- Develop product specifications, test specifications, reliability plans, schedules, cost references, and qualification documentation.
- Review product designs and test results, define validation strategies, and coordinate internal and external engineering teams through product launches.
- Provide hardware design expertise for schematics, PCB layouts, power electronics, EMC, manufacturing, testing, and FMEA activities.
- Analyze field returns, troubleshoot EMC issues, perform competitive analysis, and support ODM supplier selection and OEM hardware customization.
- Interpret IEC, UL, TUV, and VDE requirements and work with certification agencies to obtain product approvals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Power Electronics, or a related field with 10+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 8+ years of experience.
- Strong technical expertise in electronics products with embedded microcontrollers and EMI/EMC mitigation.
- Experience with PCB design and EDA software such as Cadence and PSpice.
- Good understanding of IEC/UL 61800 and IEC/UL 60335/60730 standards.
- Strong cross-functional project management, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Good oral and written English communication skills are required.
Nice to have
- Experience in HVACR applications or the HVAC industry.
- 5+ years of experience in electronics or power electronics new product development.
- Experience designing general-purpose inverters with different topologies and power-circuit thermal management.
