Senior Data Engineer Consultant (GCP)

Location: Brussels, Belgium; flexible work across the office, home, and client sites.

What you will do

• Lead client engagements and co-design data engineering solutions from strategy through execution.
• Build scalable data pipelines and architectures for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Design cloud and distributed data solutions using GCP and other modern cloud platforms, with frameworks such as Spark and Kafka.
• Develop data models and optimize relational, NoSQL, time-series, and graph database solutions.
• Implement batch, streaming, and real-time data integration, alongside CI/CD and DataOps practices.
• Develop hirify.global’s data engineering offerings, contribute to thought leadership, support business development, and mentor junior and medior consultants.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–6 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent academic research.
• Hands-on experience with GCP cloud, data, and AI/ML services, including architecture, IAM, cost optimization, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with data engineering, cloud platforms, distributed systems, database design, data modeling, and data integration.
• Fluent English with excellent communication and presentation skills; fluency in Dutch or French is required.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication, mentoring, and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure.
• Interest or experience in data and AI-related topics, Energy, or Finance.
• Entrepreneurial drive and interest in developing consulting offerings.
