Senior Software Engineer (JVM, Kotlin)

Location: Hybrid positions in London, England; Sydney, New South Wales; or Warsaw, Masovian Voivodeship

What you will do

• Design and build backend services for a highly scalable marketing platform.
• Own the design of APIs, applications, and supporting infrastructure.
• Deliver solutions end to end, including automation, deployment, operation, and support.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions with clients and delivery teams.
• Document technical designs and requirements for internal teams and client stakeholders.
• Collaborate in an Agile delivery model with remote and in-person engineers, data scientists, and adjacent teams.

Requirements

• Strong experience with JVM-based development; Kotlin is preferred and Java is welcome.
• Experience designing data-driven APIs and large-scale web services.
• Solid SQL skills, including schema design and performance-aware queries.
• Deep experience with automated unit and integration testing; TDD or BDD is preferred.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, Redux, Tailwind, or comparable modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, infrastructure as code, and containerized deployments.

Nice to have

• Scala or functional programming experience.
• Experience with asynchronous and highly concurrent backend frameworks such as Ktor, http4k, Play, or RxJava.
• NoSQL experience with technologies such as DynamoDB, Cassandra, Bigtable, or Cosmos DB.
• Strong Git workflow experience and an appetite for learning new technologies.
