Associate Director, Data Engineering & Architecture (Snowflake)

Location: Hybrid, with three days per week on campus in Cambridge, MA or RTP, NC

Salary: $152,000–$220,000 base compensation

What you will do

• Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, technology strategies, and Snowflake roadmaps.
• Establish governance for metadata, data quality, lineage, privacy, and compliance.
• Lead architecture design, solution reviews, technical governance, and delivery for data initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging cloud, AI, analytics, and data technologies through assessments and proofs of concept.
• Collaborate with IT, business stakeholders, and leadership to align solutions, manage dependencies, and prioritize requests.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring while planning project timelines and making decisions on complex initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or related areas.
• 3+ years of cross-system and full-stack architecture experience using Snowflake.
• Experience developing Snowflake data platform roadmaps.
• Strong expertise in cloud data platforms, data modeling, and data governance.
• Experience supporting enterprise analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and data-driven business initiatives.

Nice to have

• Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Power BI, Informatica, and modern data engineering platforms.
• Experience working in GxP and regulated environments.
