Technical Writer (Music Apps)

What you will do

• Create customer-facing Help documentation, learning materials, instructional features, and in-app UX strings for Logic Pro, GarageBand, MainStage, and companion apps.
• Use LLM technologies and prompt-assisted workflows to generate, edit, and scale content while maintaining voice, tone, accuracy, and conciseness.
• Write UI strings, tooltips, onboarding flows, and workflow-driven instructional content.
• Research product features with design, engineering, and product partners and translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance.
• Develop scalable solutions that help beginner and professional musicians learn the products.
• Coordinate multiple projects, milestones, and release cycles with international teams.

Requirements

• Professional experience in music technology in technical writing, UX writing, content design, instructional design, or a related customer communication role.
• Ability to write concise in-app UX strings, microcopy, step-by-step instructional guides, and comprehensive Help documentation.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI tools, prompt engineering, and LLM-assisted content workflows.
• Deep knowledge of music production workflows on iOS and macOS.
• Proficiency with content management and version control systems such as Git or SVN.
• Ability to collaborate across design, product, engineering, and localization teams while managing tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience building or using LLM tooling such as RAG for terminology compliance, style checks, or ground-truth generation.
• Hands-on experience with Logic Pro, GarageBand, and MainStage.
• Experience with structured text formats such as Markdown, HTML/XML, or JSON.
• Background in music theory, sound design, or audio engineering.
• Degree in Technical Communication, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Design, or Instructional Technologies.
