Senior Program Manager R&D (Biotech)

Location: Cambridge or Slough, United Kingdom. Office-first role with primarily office-based work and remote flexibility for 20% of the time, typically one day per week.

What you will do

• Lead complex cross-functional biologics R&D programs against agreed scope, timelines, and quality expectations.
• Coordinate R&D, technical, commercial, and regulatory stakeholders throughout the program lifecycle.
• Drive program governance, planning, risk management, decision-making, and project data quality.
• Balance stakeholder interests, business priorities, and project objectives.
• Motivate and influence multidisciplinary teams in a matrix environment without direct authority.
• Share project management expertise and support the onboarding and development of colleagues.

Requirements

• Significant experience managing complex programs or projects in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related technical environment.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong expertise in project governance, planning, risk management, and delivery.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for technical and business audiences.
• Degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline.
• Ability to work primarily from the Cambridge or Slough office in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or a comparable qualification.
