Design Manager - Packaging

Location: Welwyn Garden City, UK; hybrid working with 60% of the week at office locations or local sites and the remainder remote

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end packaging design projects for Own Label brands, from concept through to shelf.
• Develop project plans and budgets while proactively managing delivery risks and financial exposure.
• Translate customer and commercial insights into creative briefs and design strategies.
• Lead design agencies, cross-functional working sessions, photography shoots, and workflow prioritization.
• Collaborate with print experts to ensure designs can be reproduced across flexo, litho, gravure, and other substrates.
• Work with the artwork partner to secure timely approvals and ensure compliance with Tesco design and milestone processes.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Graphic Design or a related subject.
• At least 3 years of experience leading design projects, ideally in FMCG, agency, or retail environments.
• Experience translating business needs into design strategy and recognizing design as a strategic partner.
• Demonstrated knowledge of translating designs into print, including flexo, litho, and gravure processes.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup based around Welwyn Garden City, with 60% office or local-site collaboration.
