Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia; hybrid, with office collaboration on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Salary: CA$140,000–CA$230,000 per year, plus equity options.

What you will do

• Own and extend the infrastructure paved road through reusable Pulumi components and disaster-recovery-ready GCP infrastructure.
• Operate GKE clusters, node pools, in-cluster services, workload sizing, and policy enforcement.
• Build and maintain CI/CD platform components, reducing pipeline duration and flaky failures across engineering.
• Improve internal developer platform surfaces, observability, alerting, SLOs, and incident follow-up.
• Drive GCP and LLM cost attribution, right-sizing, commitment planning, and resource cleanup.
• Automate software supply-chain security, infrastructure identity and access, SOC 2 controls, and audit evidence.

Requirements

• Hands-on DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience operating production systems and participating in on-call support.
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge and practical experience with Pulumi or Terraform.
• Strong GCP or AWS fundamentals and a background in systems engineering and software development.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines used by other teams, preferably with GitHub Actions or Buildkite.
• Experience with security tooling, threat modeling, and automated SOC 2 or enterprise security controls.
• Fluent use of AI coding tools and experience working with AI-first teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with platform migrations, decommissions, internal developer platforms, or self-service tooling.
• Knowledge of LLM infrastructure, including gateways, token-cost attribution, rate limiting, and provider failover.
• Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Pulumi, Postgres, or Temporal.
