Senior Embedded Engineer - Camera Platform

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; onsite five days per week

Annual pay range: $130,000–$280,000 USD

What you will do

• Own end-to-end development of on-device camera platform features in C++ and Golang.
• Translate product requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions.
• Collaborate with streaming, storage, and AI engineering teams to optimize software for edge computing environments.
• Lead code reviews, guide debugging, and maintain high coding standards.
• Coordinate regular over-the-air releases while balancing delivery speed, stability, and reliability.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional systems software development experience in performance- and resource-constrained environments.
• Proficiency in C++ or Golang.
• 2+ years of experience developing software for Linux-based platforms.
• Strong understanding of modern operating systems, computer architecture, and compute, memory, and storage trade-offs.
• Experience with Bash, Python, technical communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience developing on-device software for cloud-connected devices.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel development.
