What you will do

• Support reliability characterization and qualification activities for silicon photonic devices and photonic integrated circuits.
• Analyze reliability, characterization, manufacturing, and process data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Execute Design of Experiments and statistical analyses to evaluate device performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with process integration, technology development, design, manufacturing, and quality teams on technology development and process certification.
• Support environmental, electrical, and reliability stress testing, root-cause investigations, and failure analysis.
• Prepare technical reports, communicate findings, improve manufacturing maturity, and support technology transfer into production.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Optical Science, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related technical field with at least 1 year of relevant experience; or a PhD in a related field with at least 6 months of relevant experience.
• Experience in silicon photonics technology development or manufacturing.
• Data extraction and analysis skills using JMP, ILM, REL, PCS, or SQL scripting.
• Quality and reliability, process, device, or product engineering experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, and structured problem solving.
• Exposure to optical-device qualification methods and reliability tests such as HTOL, THB/DH, MSV, TC, HTS, and ESD.
• Experience with failure analysis, semiconductor physics, and electrical characterization for wafer fabrication.
