Accounting Manager (Hospitality)

Location: Brampton, Ontario, Canada; full-time hybrid role with work performed primarily in an office environment

Salary: CAD 110,000–125,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the accounting team and support the Controller in maintaining an efficient, goal-oriented finance organization.
• Manage monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entry review, account reconciliations, cost allocations, accruals, reserves, and balance-sheet analysis.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and resolve root causes of reconciling items.
• Direct staff workflow, develop team members, and support hiring, performance management, training, and career planning.
• Evaluate and improve general accounting, close, reconciliation, and data-flow processes.
• Support internal and external audits and maintain relationships with banking, government, insurance, and other third parties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA designation and five years of total accounting experience in public and/or private companies with revenue of $100M or more.
• Demonstrated ability to manage staff and present findings or recommendations to senior management.
• Extensive experience with Oracle and similar ERP software.
• Strong management, interpersonal, organizational, time-management, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work irregular hours and on-call shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
