Senior Accountant (SaaS)

Location: Remote within Canada; Ottawa office

Salary: CA$85,000–CA$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Prepare and post journal entries for monthly close, including accruals, prepaids, revenue, and COGS.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support financial consolidation, intercompany transactions, and foreign-exchange accounting.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries.
• Prepare audit schedules, financial statements, and supporting documentation.
• Improve or automate manual close processes and support finance operations, analysis, and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally including month-end close responsibilities.
• CPA or CA completed or in progress.
• Working knowledge of IFRS or a strong GAAP foundation with willingness to learn IFRS-specific requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite and strong Excel skills.
• Must be a Canadian citizen or eligible to work in Canada. A criminal records check is required upon hire.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency accounting.
• Experience in a SaaS, hardware, or hybrid hardware/software business.
• Experience supporting external audits.
• Curiosity about using AI tools for reconciliation, variance analysis, and documentation.
