Enterprise Architect - Business Systems (Internal) (AI)

Location: Somerville, MA, United States; hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Define and drive the technology strategy for Salesforce, NetSuite, Shopify, custom applications, and data layers.
• Design scalable, secure, and robust solutions for eCommerce migrations, ERP optimization, and other major initiatives.
• Build proofs of concept and establish architectural patterns using Python, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
• Own architecture trade-offs and make final technical decisions when consensus cannot be reached.
• Establish engineering principles for custom applications and automations.
• Lead the adoption of modern integration middleware and AI-supported workflows.

Requirements

• Experience combining software engineering with enterprise systems architecture.
• Strong Python, API design, enterprise integration, and middleware strategy experience.
• Hands-on cloud-native experience with GCP or AWS/Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Functional and technical familiarity with Salesforce, NetSuite, and Shopify.
• Strong SQL and data warehousing knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI tooling, including LLMs, RAG, or agents, in an enterprise context.
• Experience with Gearset or similar Salesforce DevOps tools.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT, Airbyte, BigQuery, security architecture, or vulnerability management.
