Cost Accounting Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid role requiring candidates to be located near Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA, with some work performed on site

Base salary: $105,000–$165,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Own nonlabor program costs across systems and ensure completeness and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
• Track, validate, report, and analyze program costs, including variance drivers, budgets, estimates at completion, and forecasts.
• Own end-to-end inventory accounting for raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
• Establish inventory controls, reconciliation procedures, scalable cost accounting processes, and internal controls.
• Improve cost flows across systems, reduce close cycle time, and support monthly financial statements and annual audits.
• Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Program Management, and other stakeholders on cost-related financial matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–11 years of relevant accounting experience focused on project, cost, or program accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and project-based cost structures.
• Experience owning inventory accounting processes and working cross-functionally with Supply Chain and Operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Must be eligible under U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR; eligibility includes U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with government contract accounting, FAR/CAS standards, and DCAA compliance.
• Aerospace and defense experience.
• Prior NetSuite experience.
