Senior AI Scientist

Location: Mountain View, California, or San Diego, California

Salary: $180,000–$243,500 in Mountain View or $165,500–$223,500 in San Diego, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and evaluate AI solutions for fraud prevention, security, customer care, and other financial technology products.
• Select AI approaches, assess trade-offs, and identify hallucination, bias, drift, and other failure modes.
• Curate task-specific datasets, define baseline metrics, and design AI features balancing latency, cost, and quality.
• Build evaluation frameworks for multi-agent and other non-deterministic workflows, including experiment orchestration and simulation-based validation.
• Run A/B tests, measure adoption and customer impact, and drive post-launch iteration.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, designers, and business leaders to shape priorities and deliver major features.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in AI science.
• Hands-on expertise in causal, supervised, unsupervised, online, Bayesian, reinforcement, and deep learning.
• Proficiency in NLP, explainable AI, and common machine learning frameworks.
• Expertise in Python, Scala, Java, and/or R; efficient SQL, Hive, or SparkSQL skills; and comfort working in Linux.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
