Senior Engineering Manager, Grafana Frontend

Location: Remote in Canada, EST time zones only

Base compensation: CAD 211,450–253,740 per year, plus RSUs.

What you will do

• Lead the Frontend Platform and Navigation squads, with accountability for performance, delivery, team health, and customer outcomes.
• Hire, plan capacity, coach senior engineers, develop technical leaders, and address performance gaps.
• Lead customer, community, and internal-user discovery and translate feedback and usage evidence into roadmaps and priorities.
• Partner with Product, Design, and engineering leaders to manage dependencies, trade-offs, delivery risks, and rollouts.
• Set engineering direction for frontend foundations, developer experience, accessibility, architecture, tooling, reliability, multitenancy, navigation, search, and resource organisation.
• Lead AI and automation adoption, participate in the engineering management on-call rotation, and improve incident response and engineering productivity.

Requirements

• Significant experience managing senior engineers, building healthy teams, and developing technical leaders.
• Strong technical foundation in modern web or frontend systems and the ability to evaluate architecture and engineering trade-offs.
• Experience turning ambiguous cross-team problems into clear priorities and measurable outcomes while managing delivery and operational risks.
• Strong product and customer judgement, connecting engineering investments with user, developer, and business outcomes.
• Clear written communication and the ability to work effectively in a remote, globally distributed organisation.
• Practical experience using AI and automation in leadership work and guiding teams in their adoption.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, TypeScript, or comparable large-scale frontend ecosystems.
• Experience leading developer platform teams supporting plugins or extensions.
• Experience with navigation, search, information architecture, or resource-management products.
• Experience delivering multitenant SaaS or major platform migrations.
• Experience working on a widely adopted open-source product.
