Director, Cloud Engineering

Location: Remote within Canada

Salary: CAD 200,000–250,000 per year

Develops digital investigation products and SaaS platforms for customers serving the public safety and security sectors.

What you will do

• Define and execute the cloud platform strategy supporting SaaS products and long-term business objectives.
• Lead reliability, observability, incident management, disaster recovery, governance, and platform architecture initiatives.
• Drive cloud security, vulnerability remediation, compliance readiness, and regulatory enablement, including FedRAMP-related work.
• Own FinOps programs covering cloud cost governance, forecasting, budgeting, transparency, and optimization.
• Lead responsible AI adoption, including platform evaluation, operational governance, monitoring, and infrastructure optimization.
• Build and lead cloud and platform engineering teams while improving developer experience, tooling, and self-service capabilities.

Requirements

• Must reside in Canada and work remotely from Canada.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering managers and/or technical teams.
• Deep expertise with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS, plus experience building and maintaining private cloud infrastructure.
• Experience operating large-scale SaaS platforms and strong knowledge of cloud security, compliance, governance, risk management, and cost optimization.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, executive presentation, strategic initiative, and technology vendor management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience building platform engineering or developer experience organizations.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning infrastructure, governance, and operational practices.
• Experience leading identity and access management initiatives.
• Knowledge of observability, cloud operations, reliability engineering, and high-growth SaaS environments.
