Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Salary: $110,000–$165,300 per year

What you will do

• Architect and implement scalable, secure cloud data platforms and complex ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Define data architecture, technical roadmaps, engineering standards, and technology choices across multiple teams.
• Build integrations with enterprise systems, APIs, message queues, streaming sources, and third-party services.
• Mentor data engineers, lead code reviews and design discussions, and promote engineering best practices.
• Own critical data solutions through deployment, monitoring, performance tuning, incident response, and data quality management.
• Evaluate and integrate generative AI models and agentic systems with responsible AI practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of progressive data engineering experience delivering large-scale data platforms and pipelines.
• Expert Python and SQL skills, with experience in optimization, performance tuning, and complex data manipulation.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Azure or GCP data services, distributed processing technologies such as Spark, PySpark, or Dask, and advanced data modeling.
• Experience with APIs, Kafka or Event Hubs, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Terraform or ARM templates, and production data or ML pipelines.

Nice to have

• Advanced Azure data services expertise and relevant professional certifications.
• Experience with data governance, master data management, data lineage, and real-time streaming.
• Software engineering, NoSQL, graph database, machine learning, or MLOps experience.
