Assistant Store Manager (Retail)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; onsite

Base pay range: $X–$X per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Support the Store Manager with daily store operations, sales performance, and customer experience.
• Lead by example on hirify.global’s Steps of Selling and drive revenue, conversion, productivity, customer retention, and NPS.
• Manage inventory counts, order fulfillment, back-of-house organization, supplies, shrink prevention, and operational escalations.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards, execute campaigns, monitor assortment performance, and coordinate replenishment and display maintenance.
• Support onboarding, training, scheduling, performance assessments, employee relations, and team engagement.

Requirements

• Experience with financial management, top-line sales, reporting data, payroll budgets, and expense control.
• Strong leadership experience supporting, coaching, and motivating retail teams.
• Solid understanding of customer experience and its execution on the sales floor.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency with point-of-sale systems, inventory software, and retail technology.
• Awareness of local market requirements relevant to new store openings.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment focused on experimentation and iteration.

• Leadership experience in a high-volume retail environment.
• Experience opening a store from scratch with a Store Manager.
