Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Pueblo, Colorado, United States; travel up to 15% within the continental United States.

Salary: $90,000–$115,000 USD base salary per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing systems, processes, procedures, and tooling for solid rocket motors and energetic materials.
• Transition manufacturing processes from development and pilot scale to full production by defining process controls, qualification criteria, and production readiness gates.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods to improve safety, quality, reliability, cost, throughput, yield, defect rates, and cycle time.
• Oversee solid rocket motor assembly, energetic chemical formulation, hazardous materials handling, manufacturing execution, and regulatory compliance.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, technical documentation, reports, and presentations; train operations personnel.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing Development, Safety, Compliance, Operations, and external stakeholders across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 5 years of experience, a relevant master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or 9 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Hands-on experience implementing and improving production manufacturing processes, including SOPs, work instructions, and process specifications.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, with measurable process improvement results.
• Experience supporting complex assembly, hazardous materials handling, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Ability to operate within OSHA, ITAR, and hazardous or energetic materials requirements.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain state and federal explosives licenses, pass drug and background checks, and meet U.S. Government export requirements as a U.S. person or authorized individual.

Nice to have

• Experience with energetic materials, solid rocket motor propellant manufacturing, or other hazardous manufacturing environments.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
