Embedded Engineer (C/C++)

Location: On-site in Oviedo, Florida, Monday–Friday; work takes place at a manufacturing facility, office, laboratory, and occasionally on the manufacturing floor. Minimal travel of 0–5%.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and test embedded firmware for microcontroller- and microprocessor-based systems.
• Lead firmware development for assigned modules and subsystems.
• Perform hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, validation, and root-cause analysis.
• Create test plans, document results, and maintain architecture and design documentation.
• Contribute to firmware architecture, code reviews, process improvements, and engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and application engineers while mentoring junior embedded engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years of professional embedded firmware or software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C and/or C++ for embedded targets.
• Experience with RTOS-based development, such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr, and ARM Cortex-M or similar architectures.
• Knowledge of embedded communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, and USB.
• Experience with hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, Git, complex hardware/software debugging, and technical communication. Employment eligibility, background checks, and pre-employment testing are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with safety-critical or regulated development standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 26262, or IEC 62443.
• Knowledge of bootloaders, firmware updates, low-power design, wireless protocols, static analysis, CI/CD, or secure firmware practices.
