Firmware/Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: $89,400–$134,100 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and test firmware and software systems.
• Analyze hardware-software interactions and collaborate with Hardware Engineers.
• Prepare and maintain design and test documentation.
• Mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians.
• Apply company operating and manufacturing principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• Typically 2+ years of experience in embedded firmware, real-time systems, firmware design, or related development.
• Experience with C, assembly, and C++.
• Experience developing Windows GUI applications using object-oriented design and languages such as C++ or C#.
• Experience with test development and scripting, including Python and Perl.
• Work in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial controls and three-phase electric power systems.
• Knowledge of modern communications protocols, digital and analog circuitry, digital communications, or signal processing.
• Project management experience.
