AV Engineer

Location: Somerset, New Jersey, USA; onsite support required for meetings, events, and workplace technology services.

Salary: $60,000–$75,000 annual base salary.

What you will do

• Provide first-level break/fix support for conference rooms and collaboration spaces.
• Troubleshoot audio, video, display, camera, microphone, connectivity, and conferencing platform issues.
• Set up, test, and operate AV equipment for Executive Briefing Center meetings and corporate events.
• Install, configure, inspect, and maintain displays, microphones, cameras, speakers, control systems, and conferencing hardware.
• Log, track, document, and resolve incidents through the Help Desk ticketing system, escalating complex issues when needed.
• Perform monitoring, diagnostics, health checks, preventive maintenance, and equipment inventory management.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or relevant work experience.
• 3–5 years of audio-visual experience in an educational, customer service, or hospitality setting.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of AV hardware and conferencing technologies, including Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, or Zoom.
• Ability to lift and move AV equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work onsite in Somerset, New Jersey, travel to SHI, partner, and customer events, and work flexible hours for events and projects.

Nice to have

• CTS certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience supporting executive meetings and live events.
• Knowledge of Cisco Room devices, digital signage, and room control systems.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
