Histotechnician I (Whole Exome/Genome Sequencing)

What you will do

• Prepare tissues, stained slides, and macrodissections for whole exome and genome sequencing.
• Prepare reagents and equipment and independently perform testing after training and competency approval.
• Manage cases, meet department turnaround-time goals, and investigate sample-processing issues.
• Participate in validations, reagent qualifications, safety audits, and SOP updates.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes, document corrective actions, and escalate protocol deviations.
• Provide guidance to new team members and support daily laboratory operations.

Requirements

• Associate’s or higher degree in histotechnology, or an applicable chemical or biological science degree with qualifying histology training or experience.
• HT (ASCP) certification required.
• 0–2 years of experience.
• Degree must be from the US or equivalent to a US degree; a copy is required at hire.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, teamwork, and workflow understanding.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform repetitive hand motions.
