Specialist Charge Revenue Integrity (Cardiology)

Location: Remote position associated with Livonia, Michigan; Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Columbus, Ohio, United States

What you will do

• Research, collect, analyze, and distribute operational and performance reports.
• Review patient charts and clinical documentation to validate charges, dates of service, encounters, and required modifiers.
• Perform CPT and ICD-10 coding, charge entry, charge approvals, quality reviews, and claim denial review.
• Resolve pre-bill edits, including OCE, CCI, and DNFB, while supporting charge reconciliation and error management.
• Provide at-the-elbow support and education to clinical and ancillary departments on documentation, coding, and charge capture.
• Prepare analytical summaries, graphical trend reports, and recommendations to support leadership decisions.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in healthcare, business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Required coding credential such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC/COC, AAPC, or another recognized coding certification.
• At least three years of relevant coding and charge-control experience in a hospital or physician-practice environment.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, revenue codes, modifiers, charge master maintenance, audits, clinical billing, and revenue-cycle operations.
• Working knowledge of third-party payer rules, charge documentation systems, electronic interfaces, and billing processes.
• Remote work is associated with locations in Michigan and Ohio, United States.

Nice to have

• CDC healthcare compliance certification.
• CHRI certification or membership.
• Knowledge of APC, OPPS, OCE/CCI pre-bill edits, DNFB, and clinical documentation improvement.
